In Puxico, Charles Fann had 49 votes for the Ward I alderman seat against Gary M. Wilfong, who had 24 votes. In Ward II in Puxico, Peter Coutavas ran unopposed.
There were four candidates in Puxico's race for school board. Dusty Stroud took 365 votes and John R. David had 254 to earn the two available seats on that board. Charles Burns had 204 votes and Michael Owens had 170.
Incumbents Rick Williams and Jim Reiker will retain their seats on Dexter's Board of Education, but the third candidate in the race was right behind them in the April 3 municipal election in Stoddard County.
Reiker collected 381 votes, and Williams was close behind with 373. Also on the ballot was Ronald Glaus II, who tallied 315 votes in the race. There were also 20 write in votes.
Voter turnout was an expected low, given the lack of races in the area and the threatening weather conditions.
The only other race in Dexter's election was for a seat on the Board of Alderman in Ward III. Jason Banken was the original incumbent in that race, but opted to run instead for the mayoral seat relinquished by long time mayor, Joe Weber. Banken ran unopposed. Glen Robinson and Ronald J. Ahrens made the Ward III run a contest, and Robinson came out with 70 votes against just 14 for Ahrens.
Larry Rogers will retain his seat in Dexter's Ward II and Jerry Corder in Ward I. Both ran unopposed.
Ryan Schrader will serve as alderman in Ward I in Advance. He had no opponent in the race, and Carol Blanton ran unopposed for Ward II alderman there.
Also in Advance, there was a four-way race for two seats on the school board. Jim Below and Nanie Hawkins were the winners there with 170 and 107 votes, respectively. Chase Robins had 98, and Jennifer Tidwell had 80 votes.
In Bernie, there was a contested race in Ward II, with James Henderson taking 51 votes over Sherry J. Fowler's 33. David Bess ran unopposed in Ward I, and Barry Zimmerman in Ward III.
Also in Bernie, a tight race for the Municipal Court Judge seat vacated by Norman Swafford because of age limitations, saw Shannon Foster take the win with just five votes over opponent, Danny Stone. Foster netted 98 votes with Stone tallying 93 in that race.
Running unopposed in Bernie for the mayor's seat was James H. Tilmon, and Karla Appleton ran unopposed for tax collector.
Bloomfield Schools' Special School Bond Election Proposition A had an overwhelming win with 291 Yes votes and 103 No votes.
Also in Bloomfield, aldermen Patricia Wilson in Ward I and Donna Deardorff in Ward II will retain their seats. Neither faced opposition in Tuesday's election.
In Bell City, Carl Cook had just three votes for the Ward I alderman seat, with Bo Duenne winning with 31 votes. Benjamin Abner ran unopposed in Ward II.
For Bell City School Board, there were three in the race for a pair of board seats. Kevin Hunt earned 132 votes, and Mark Anderson earned 113 votes. Steve Hughes had 75 votes.
There was little voter turnout in Essex, where the only contest was for alderman in Ward II. Regina Williams had three votes for the win. In Ward I, Angela Malloy ran unopposed.
In the village of Penermon, there were five votes cast for three aldermen running. Rose M. Jacobs, Annie Thompson and Lillie Clark will serve as board members.
