Fairdealing man charged with DWI after wreck

A Fairdealing man lost control of his 2004 Ford F350 at around noon Tuesday, resulting property damage and minor injuries to himself. According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, driver Blake E. Payne, 30, drove off the left side of the roadway on U.S. Highway 160 three miles east of Fairdealing, striking a tree and a MoDOT sign. Payne is facing alleged charges of DWI — alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, careless and imprudent driving resulting in an accident, no seatbelt and resisting arrest. He was released for medical treatment and transported by Butler County EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
