Eugene Field Elementary School students of the month for January are Gabby Pettypool, first grade; Kaylin Walker, second grade; and Sara Tolliver, third grade,

Pettypool's teacher is Teresa Webb. She is the daughter of Danielle Pettypool and granddaughter of Sam and Sheila Cochran.

Nominating Pettypool, Webb said, she was chosen because of her consistent practice of the seven habit. Her peers consider her a great role model and admire her leadership qualities. She is proactive and hard working in all her endeavors.

She is a member of the Legends leadership team and her classroom leadership job is paper passer.

Her teacher said, she always meticulously completes all of her work, giving attention to details. She never hesitates to offer help to others in need. Her favorite subject is science. She likes learning about animals.

In her spare time, Pettypool enjoys playing school with her cousin. Her goal is to be a doctor when she grows up and Webb believes Pettypool will be successful in any career she chooses because of her determination and dedication.

Walker's teacher is Cheri Sparkman and the librarian is Melissa Reese. Her parents are David and Jessica Walker

Walkers' hobbies are math and art. She loves spending time with her family and she made a family art piece with her and her brothers hands.

Sparkman said, Walker "is an amazing student with outstanding character. She is always proactive and takes initiative to help others. She has a big heart, and cares for everyone. Kaylin is mature, and has exceptional leadership qualities which will inspire her to reach her goals to become a veterinarian. Kaylin really loves animals."

Tolliver's teacher is Tifanie Nicolini and her parents are Jerry and Mary Tolliver. Her hobbies are riding horses and doing science projects.

Nicolini said, "Sara is hard working, respectful and kindhearted. She always does her best and follows all school and classroom expectations. Sara goes above and beyond to help out classmates, even without being asked to. Sara is a true leader and she sets a great example for others."

She wants to be a cowgirl when she grows up.
