Contested races have developed at the state level for six local offices.

Filing opened Tuesday for the Aug. 4 primary election of U.S. representative, state senator, state representative and other state offices. The winners of the primary election will move on to the Nov. 3 election.

Offices currently contested include: U.S. representative for District 8; state senators for districts 3, 25, 27 and 33; and state representative for District 153. Information was reported as of 4 p.m. by the Missouri Secretary of State office.

Filing for the primary will remain open until March 31 for state and county offices.

Candidates who had filed as of 4 p.m. for the following offices are:
