The Missouri State Fire Marshal is investigating a three-alarm fire at a vacant building in Poplar Bluff. Firefighters battled the blaze for over two hours using 8,000 gallons of water.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal is investigating an early morning three-alarm fire Monday on south Eighth Street in Poplar Bluff.

Three crews of Poplar Bluff Firefighters responded at 3:38 a.m. to a vacant and unsecured single-story structure at 632 S. Eighth St. and spent more than two hours at the scene. Firefighters used 8,000 gallons of water to battle the blaze.

According to Capt. Chad Bell’s report, the house was fully engulfed in flames when the fire crews arrived. There were no utility to the structure other than an old Spire gas steam. Spire gas was called.

Fire personnel at the scene were Mykel Limanen, Joshua Buhler, Jon Miller, Kenneth Felts, Tanner Tibbs, Austin Armes, Bell and Fire Chief Mike Moffitt.
