A local children’s home recently received the donation of games and game equipment from a mission group which is part of Fellowship General Baptist Church.

The organization, 4PB, selected to help Hope House of Poplar Bluff, which is owned by Faith Foundation Children’s Home.

The group wanted to help provide fun and recreation for the children living in the home, according to members. With cooler weather coming, the group decided to supply indoor activity equipment for the newly-opened facility.

The donation included a regulation air hockey table, a foosball table, a ping pong table, ring toss/cornhole set and assorted sports equipment. The group delivered the purchases to Hope House.

Rodger Dexter, the assistant supervisor, accepted the donation on behalf of Faith Foundation.

“This is an amazing gift for the kids,” Dexter said in a press release. “We have rainy days and cold weather and this will give the kids good activities to do other than television and video games while inside the home.”

Hope House can serve up to 24 children at a time.

The new facility opened in Poplar Bluff in July and welcomes children who are unable to be placed with foster families, and children who have experienced trauma. Children receive therapy and specialized services tailored to the individual. They stay at the home until placement or reunification with their families is possible, according to organizers.

Faith Foundation operates multiple homes for children in Southeast Missouri and is a non-profit organization dedicated to a mission of “Healing Hearts, Renewing Minds”

4PB is made up of members of Fellowship General Baptist Church who raise money throughout the year for projects like these.

The church is located at 3581 N. Westwood Blvd. Services are held at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sundays. The group supports several outreach programs including programs focused on Haven House, Sierra Osage, Scouting, a children’s clothing closet and family support outreach.
