For 46 years, Dille’s Discount Pharmacy has provided care for patients in Poplar Bluff and the surrounding area.
Over the years, the family-owned pharmacy has operated under the ownership of pharmacists Jim Dille and Gary Simmons.
In 2016, John’s Pharmacy, out of Cape Girardeau, acquired Dille’s Pharmacy and continued operating as Dille’s.
Effective this week, Dille’s Discount Pharmacy has become John’s Pharmacy Poplar Bluff.
John’s Pharmacy is co-owned by John McMullin, RPh, and Abe Funk, PharmD.
Currently, John’s Pharmacy owns a long term care and several retail pharmacies throughout southeast Missouri.
“We have enjoyed being a member of the Poplar Bluff community for the past six years and look forward to continue serving our current and future patients at Poplar Bluff and all our southeast Missouri locations,” said Funk in a press release.
He continued, “John’s Pharmacy is always looking to improve our service and offer new and better pharmacy solutions. We will better meet these goals as we align all of our pharmacies more closely with our parent company – John’s Pharmacy.”
Simmons noted, “Being a member of the John’s Pharmacy family of pharmacies ensures our patients in Poplar Bluff benefit from the shared resources John’s has to offer. We have been very happy with our partnership with John’s Pharmacy. Patients in Poplar Bluff will continue to be well-cared-for.”
Other John’s Pharmacy locations in Southeast Missouri have also recently changed names including Gideon Pharmacy in Gideon and Simmons and Graham Pharmacy in Charleston. The addresses, phone numbers, staff and services at each location are expected to remain the same.
As a locally-owned family of pharmacies, John’s Pharmacy said it has proudly served Southeast Missouri for over 35 years in both retail and long term care pharmacies. Starting out as a single pharmacy in Cape Girardeau, the family of pharmacies has now grown to eight locations.
