A Dexter man has been arrested for rape involving a female juvenile.
The girl, accompanied by her parents, visited Dexter Police Department on Feb. 15 to report she was “forced to have sexual intercourse’’ while visiting a male acquaintance’s home, according to a press release from the DPD.
The juvenile was interviewed at SEMO Network against Sexual Violence in Cape Girardeau, according to officers. On Tuesday, Dexter officers executed a search warrant at the home of Patrick D. Varner, 28, of Dexter where “evidence was collected.’’
Varner was booked at Stoddard County jail on charges of first-degree rape, and second degree statutory rape. He is being held without bond.
