A bootlegger is caught, convicted and put into jail. His dog, Jiggs, was left behind. Depressed from the loss of his owner, Jiggs refused to eat any food given to him for 16 days straight. Jiggs body had become skin and bones. Officers decided to let Jiggs see his owner. When they reunited, both Jiggs and his owner cried. After seeing his master again, Jiggs decided it was time to eat.

A copperhead snake bites a man in the Wappapello Lake. The man said it bit him right above the ankle as he was fishing at the lake. He was rushed to Lucy Lee Hospital where he received proper treatment.
