Poplar Bluff Ward 4 candidate Philip Crocker filed for re-election Tuesday, the final day to sign up for the April 3 election.
Both seats on the Poplar Bluff City Council now face a contest, but some spots in Neelyville, Fisk and Qulin are uncontested.
Filing was the right thing to do, Crocker said Tuesday evening.
Both Crocker and Ward 2 representative Ed DeGaris initially said they would not file for another term, but are now seeking re-election.
"One term is not fair, now that I've got all this experience," Crocker said, adding he was asked to run again.
DeGaris has also said he was asked to run again.
Both DeGaris and Crocker face challengers. Shane Cornman, 44, is seeking the Ward 4 seat and Dylan Groves, 23, the Ward 2 seat.
DeGaris currently serves as mayor, a position that is decided by a vote of the city council members.
Two people have filed for the Neelyville Ward 1 seat, Linda Harris and Vickie LeCroy. One person, Darold Moran, has filed for Ward 2.
In Fisk, incumbent Doug Mosbey is the only person to file for Ward 2. There is also one candidate for mayor, John Murray. Current Mayor Kim Diamond did not file for re-election.
The city of Qulin has three candidates for mayor, incumbent Glen Sedrick, Bobby Weeks and Jaren Rushing. Ward 1 incumbent Cheryl Johnson and Ward 2 council member Mary Martin have also filed for re-election.
