A trio of structure fires kept Butler County firefighters busy the past four days.
Butler County firefighters responded to three structure fires beginning with one Friday, the second on Sunday and the third Monday morning.
County firefighters responded at 2:30 p.m. Friday to a structure fire at 1072 County Road 611. According to reports, the building was an old log home, which was fully involved when the first truck arrived. A vacant trailer sitting next to the house sustained some damage. No one was living in either home.
The log residence belonging to Kozetta Vinson was totaled. Vinson is in assisted living.
The eight firefighters in three trucks fought the blaze for 2 hours and 15 minutes and used 2,000 gallons of water.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the second structure fire which county firefighters responded to at 3:02 a.m. Sunday. The home at 174 County Road 425, owned by Austin Lemons, was totaled. No was living in the home which was being remodeled.
The six firefighters in two trucks used 8,000 gallons of water in fighting the blaze.
An alarm at midnight for a structure fire in a double wide mobile home at 306 Main St., Neelyville, had seven firefighters in four trucks rolling Monday morning.
One firefighter said crews are not sure anyone was living in the home. It appeared the trailer had just moved into the lot.
The mobile home was completely involved when the fire crew arrived, the report stated, and the roof had already fallen into the home.
It also said by the time somebody saw the flames, the fire was already going strong.
There was four trucks and seven firemen on the scene. They used 1,700 gallon of water.
Firefighters did not have the name of the owner at press time.
