City meetings, week of Feb. 24, 2020

__City council__

The Poplar Bluff City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the city council chambers at 301 S. Fifth St.

Workshop items include:

• Discussion of a recommendation for architectural service for the proposed police station building.

• Discussion of a recommendation authorizing the Mayor to enter into a loan agreement with First Midwest Bank of Poplar Bluff for a short term loan for the acquisition of the real property along Shelby Road in Poplar Bluff for the construction of a police station from Fist Missouri State Bank of Poplar Bluff.

• Discuss a recommendation for the Missouri Utilities Advisory Board regarding an Option and Lease Agreement between the City of Poplar Bluff and New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC.

• Discuss a proposal for the police union contract.

• Discuss a recommendation to abandon certain right-of-way on a portion of the old Channon Drive.

Action required items include:

• The City Council will take action on an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a loan agreement with First Midwest Ban of Poplar Bluff for a short term loan for the acquisition of the real estate along Shelby Road in Poplar Bluff.

• A recommendation to abandon certain right-of-way on a portion of the old Channon Drive.

• Annexation into the city property at 3392 Kanell Blvd.

A closed session is also planned.

__Utilities__

The Municipal Utilities Advisory Board will meet at 3 p.m. Monday at 1902 Sunset Drive.

__Park board__

The Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday at the park department office.

__Library board__

The Poplar Bluff Municipal Library District Board of Trustees will meet at 4 p.m. in the Wolpers Family Board Room 318 N. Main St.

__DPB__

The board of Downtown Poplar Bluff Inc. will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the city council chamber.

__Electrical board__

The Poplar Bluff Electrical Board will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday in the city council chamber.
