Locations for a Poplar Bluff city hall and police department will once again be a topic of discussion for the city council, which has added the matter to their agenda for Monday's regular meeting.
City council documents released Friday say options for city hall will be discussed, but do not provide other information concerning what those options may be.
City manager Mark Massingham said in June the council could consider locations outside the downtown area, but could not comment on a specific site.
Location of a new building has been debated for about three years, as the former Oak Street home of city services has continued to deteriorate.
Both city hall and police services have been relocated to rented facilities, however city court and city council meetings remain at the original site.
Extensive meetings were held with a committee of citizens and city officials in 2014 and 2015.
The majority of members supported maintaining a downtown location for city hall. They agreed to a location for the police department on or near the Highway 67 corridor, if it would not add cost to the city hall project.
Committee members were invited to a May 2016 city council meeting, but then were not asked to speak and were not addressed by the council members.
The city council have previously asked architects to do a preliminary design for new buildings on Oak Street, using property the city currently owns.
Architects said in the May 2016 meeting, they had reached a stopping point until the council could make decisions regarding exactly what type of building they would like.
