The Community Resource Council was excited to reveal 2021’s Person of the Year at their 30th Annual Partnership Luncheon.
“The 2021 Person of the Year is Judith Nettles for her devotion to children, innovative thinking and ability to tell the team how things are,” announced Tim Hicks, the 2020 Person of the Year.
Nettles has been a CASA volunteer for the past seven years, serving 17 children in that time. She is currently the CASA volunteer for six children. True to form, she was absent from the luncheon to be with one of her children in Farmington, celebrating that child’s birthday.
“We are so fortunate to have her a a CASA volunteer. Our motto at the CASA of the 36th Judicial Circuit is ‘we all want to grow up to be like Miss Judith,’” Hicks said.
In her absence, the award was presented to CASA Program Director Judy Moss.
CRC also hosted a Poplar Bluff-themed trivia game after the luncheon, and the winning team got to choose which charity received a $200. The money was awarded to Hearts for Rescue.
