POPLAR BLUFF, Mo.-The Butler County Health Department has received agrant award from Missouri Foundation for Health. Funding for this project was provided in whole by Missouri Foundation for Health. The foundation is a resource for the region, working with communities and nonprofits to generate and accelerate positive changes in health. As a catalyst for change, the Foundation improves the health of Missourians through a combination of partnership, experience, knowledge, and funding. These funds will support the development and implementation of an innovative technical assistance program in quality improvement to address the opioid epidemic in Butler County and Region E Public Health System's partnering organizations.
The program offers structured technical assistance for quality improvement for local public health agencies and partnering stakeholder agencies through collaboration with a team from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The program is specifically designed for LPHA administrators, health educators and nurses, as well as partners such as treatment center staff, behavioral providers, and coordinators of college and university addiction response programs.
