A resident from Oakdale Nursing Home Assisted Living in Poplar Bluff, who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, has died, according to Butler County Health Department.
Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center reported the patient was admitted on June 21, and later tested positive for COVID -19. The patient remained in the hospital until their time of death on June 28, health department officials said.
Officials said no personal information about the resident will be released at this time.
As of 2 p.m. Monday, Butler County has 90 total cases of COVID-19, of those cases 47 are active, and 41 have recovered.
The state reported reported 998 deaths as of 3:30 p.m. Monday. The state has seen a nearly 10% increase in cases over the past week, with cases now topping 21,000.
