Residents have an opportunity to shop local first for the upcoming holidays at the Bou-Tiques and Fleas Fall Market from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at the Black River Coliseum. The event, sponsored by the Daily American Republic newspaper, will offer a variety of items in one location.
“I am so excited to see this event happen,” said organizer Christy Pierce. “It is something the newspaper has wanted to host for a long time.“
Admission will be $5 and children 10 and younger may attend free.
“We have a great selection of vendors signed up, including four food trucks, so come have lunch with us,” Pierce said. “There are always several fall festivals this time of year, but make sure before you leave town, you stop by the Black River Coliseum and shop local first. Remember, the first 50 attendees will receive a nice tote bag and we will be giving away door prizes all day.”
DAR Advertising Director Heather Deering said, “I hope to see a good turnout so we can make this something we do annually.”
She said shoppers may visit a wide variety of vendors including area boutiques for flea market finds, crafts, soaps, tumblers, handmade items, loaded teas, shakes, healthy food options, jewelry, bounce houses, home decor, hot chocolate, coffee, candles, face painting, hair bows, collectibles and much more.
Door prizes will be awarded and “the first 50 attendees will receive a free tote bag,” Deering said.
Food trucks will include Anthony’s BBQ, Teresita’s, Montgomery Mini Donuts and Exotic Grill.
