Bloomfield man dies after being struck by a truck

A 78-year-old Bloomfield man died of injuries he suffered when he was struck by a truck at 10:23 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, on Highway 25, one-half mile north of Bloomfield.

According to the report, Billy R. Bell was crossing Highway 25 when he was struck by a 2019 Ford pickup being operating northbound Ernest C. Collier, 65, of Jackson.

Bell was taken by ambulance to SoutheastHEALTH of Stoddard County, where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m. by a doctor there.

Bell is the 52nd fatality in Troop E this year.
