Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant and Bar recently opened its 14th location in Poplar Bluff on Nov. 9. Within a week of its grand opening, the store generated over $100,000 in sales, the company said in a press release, making it the franchise’s most successful grand opening in a mid-sized community to date.

Poplar Bluff is home to about 16,000 people, which makes it one of the smallest markets that Big Whiskey’s has entered in its history.

“We couldn’t be happier with Big Whiskey’s success in Poplar Bluff. People across the community and beyond came out to celebrate our grand opening, and we expect that engagement to continue. Big Whiskey’s is exactly what our city needed.” said David Vernon, a representative from the franchisee group.

“We’ve always known that we could accomplish big things in smaller communities, and Poplar Bluff’s success is just the beginning,” said Big Whiskey’s co-owner, Austin Herschend. “This demonstrates the power of the Big Whiskey’s brand across markets of all sizes. A grand opening of that size in a smaller community indicates even greater sales success in larger cities.”

Poplar Bluff’s is the ninth Big Whiskey’s location in Missouri, and the first of eight locations to open in the next year across the nation.
