A Poplar Bluff teenager suffered serious injuries in a crash Thursday afternoon when the bicycle he was riding struck an oncoming vehicle.
According to a Poplar Bluff police report, just before 4:30 p.m., Adam Goodwin, 19, was riding southbound on the shoulder of Westwood Boulevard when he struck a northbound, 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the passenger side as it attempted to make a left turn into the Valley Plaza.
Goodwin, the report stated, failed to yield to the Jeep, which had a green light.
The driver of the Jeep, Vickie Spratt, was not injured, however, Goodwin suffered serious injures.
He was transported by Butler County EMS to the helipad at Air Evac on Oak Grove Road and then airlifted to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
