University of Missouri Extension Master Gardeners will teach youngsters how to attract butterflies to gardens.

The hands-on workshop for youth ages 4-12 will be limited to 15 students and pre-registration is required.

The class will be taught at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at the Poplar Bluff Municipal Library located at 318 N. Main St.

Master Gardener Rebecca Tindall will teach students how to attract butterflies to gardens by making a Butterfly Puddler, and the youth will make a Butterfly Drinking Tray and a Butterfly Sponge.

All three projects and materials will be taken home by the youth. If the weather permits, the workshop will be outside in the Sensory Garden, but if not, then it will be held downstairs inside the library.

Preregistration is required by calling the library at 573-686-8639 to preregistration.
