OGLESVILLE — Authorities are on the scene at a rural Butler County residence where an armed man has barricaded himself inside.
“It started as a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle near a residence,” explained Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs. “The vehicle fled and a white male jumped out and ran into the residence” in the 3100 block of Highway N.
The man, the sheriff said, was holding some type of handgun when he entered the home.
“He’s barricaded in there, and we’re waiting for a search warrant right now,” Dobbs said at about 11:30 a.m.
Since the incident began, “we’ve got three people to come out, but the person who ran in holding the gun has not come out.”
Dobbs said the Missouri State Highway Patrol is assisting his department with the incident.
Further information is not being released at this time.
