The Agee Community Club met Jan. 15, 2021, at Godfather’s Pizza.
Hostess Cathy Womack, who is also the club president, opened the meeting. The ladies repeated the club motto, “When the Heart is full of love the world is full of beauty.”
Invocation was offered by Nadine Johnson. Roll call was, “Did you make a New Year’s resolution?”
Devotional was from 1 Thessalonians 5: 14-24, and read by Nickey Orton.
Secretary and treasurer’s reports were read by Jeanie Figgins. There was no old business.
Figgins will be hostess for February.
In lieu of a door prize this month, Womack bought all of the ladies lunch.
A poem from belated honorary club member Orel Smith’s book titled “The Breeze and I” was read by Johnson. The ladies read articles from the Black River Times, which Johnson handed to everyone. “The Lazy man’s 23rd Psalm” was read by Figgins, “Just forget it” was read by Johnson, “Time is free – but it is priceless” plus “Important words” were read by Orton, “Old folks are worth a fortune” was read by Womack.
Poems were handed out by Johnson, who then gave a lesson on the Taum Sauk Reservoir that included pictures of it from when people were able to travel up to the top and peek in. Since the collapse, no one is allowed to go up there any more.
The ladies dismissed with the repeating of the club collect, “Be Still and Know that I am God,” Psalms 46:10.
