A 60-year-old Advance woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash at 3:14 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, on Highway 25, north of Highway 91, in Stoddard County.

According to the report, Remona L. Coffee was operating a northbound 2009 Hyundai Sonata, which was stopped to make a left turn and was struck in the rear by a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro being driven by David L. Fernandez, 40, of Cape Girardeau.

Fernandez’s car then allegedly crossed into the southbound lane and then was struck by a 2003 Freightliner Conventional being driven by Bernard Quinn Jr., 58, of Sikeston.

Coffee was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m. by Stoddard County Deputy Coroner Greg Mathias.

Fernandez suffered moderate injuries, while Quinn suffered minor injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

Coffee is the 48th fatality in Troop E this year.
