Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center staff reported today that 11 patients are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, with four of them on ventilators.
“We are having a rise in inpatients,” Johnna Craft, chief compliance officer, announced at the COVID -19 briefing Wednesday, which is held weekly with Butler County officials.
For two weeks the hospital had zero COVID patients, but they currently have 11 patients, she said.
While the medical team is providing care for the patients, they are asking for prayers for the patients.
Butler County Health Department also announced Wednesday that there were eight new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total in the county to 278, with 224 recovered. Butler County alone is reporting three people hospitalized and four deaths since mid-June.
