The first Missouri location of Scotty's Brewhouse opened last week at the Eight Points Shopping Center on Oak Grove Road.

The Indiana-based franchise plans to open multiple locations across the state over the next three years as part of a plan to expand nationwide, according to company officials.

"We are extremely excited about this location. This is the prototype for all our future Scotty's Brewhouse locations," Chris Martin, president of Scotty's Brewhouse, said in a press release. "The people of Poplar Bluff have been very supportive and helpful since we made the announcement we would be opening here last year. We look forward to being part of this great community and to our future expansion throughout the state of Missouri."

Due North Holdings and ZGrowth Partners acquired Scotty's Brewhouse in late 2017, and together have plans to grow the brand to 100 location in the next five years.

A new location also opened last month in Waco, Texas, the first of several for that state. Opportunities in Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Arizona, Illinois and the East Coast are being considered, the company reports.

The restaurant is one of the final pieces of the Eight Points center. The retail area is also expected to include an 84-room Fairfield Inn by 2019.

Development at the north Poplar Bluff retail area has topped $75 million since Menards first opened in 2014, owners have reported.

Locations for Academy Sports + Outdoors, Ross Dress for Less, Jimmy John's, PetSmart, Shoe Carnival, Rhodes 101/Imo's and Dollar Tree opened there in 2017.

Expansion along Oak Grove Road started in 2013, with the opening of the $173 million Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. The seven-story hospital is located on a 60-acre Oak Grove Road site, that includes a $4 million physicians office building.

North Poplar Bluff will also see the addition in the summer of 2018 of a new home for First Missouri State Bank on Barron Road. The nearly $7 million building will top 18,000 square feet, according to documents filed with the city planning department.
