Gamma Healthcare, Inc. of Poplar Bluff announced recently it had signed an agreement to acquire the long-term care division of Boyce and Bynum Pathology Laboratories.

This transaction between BBPL and Gamma will result in a broader menu of diagnostic services available to long-term care clients throughout the region.

BBPL is a provider of diagnostic and clinical laboratory services. Gamma is a provider of laboratory and radiology services for long-term care facilities.

"We feel strongly that BBPL shares our same core values in bringing high quality diagnostic results to the clients, physicians and residents we serve," said Jerrod Murphy, CEO of Gamma.

"This transaction serves as an important step to strengthen our presence throughout the Midwest, and the additional BBPL resources will enable us to build upon the superior services we currently provide."

Michael D. Curry, MD, PhD, Boyce and Bynum Pathology Laboratories, Medical Director, said, "We are confident Gamma is the right organization to build on the progress and vision of BBPL to ensure better health for the long-term care residents we serve in the Midwest."

Gamma Healthcare is family owned and operated and was established in 1981. It provides services to over 1,800 long-term care clients throughout the Midwest employing over 450.
