Edgar Langley, 45, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the intersection of Poplar and South Main streets. Langley was booked on a Probation and Parole warrant for probation violation and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of South Seventh Street. No injury was reported and neither party pressed charges.

A red 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche was impounded and towed at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, from a traffic stop on Harper Street after it was determined the vehicle was not insured. The driver was released at the scene and a traffic citation for no insurance was mailed to his residence.

An employee at Gates Refurbishing at 1041 S. Broadway reported at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, scrap metal was stolen from their property and sold to McCoy’s Scrap Metal at 635 S. Sixth St.

Dixie Parks reported at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, her ex-boyfriend communicated with her by text message in violation of a protection order.

Liberty Buchanan, 32, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at a residence in the 900 block of Gardner Street. Buchanan was booked on Butler County warrants for failure to appear on stealing and a traffic violation and a Malden municipal warrant for contempt of court. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Eljie Johnson reported at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, a pistol was stolen from his truck while it was parked in the 900 block of Garfield Street.

A representative of Fellowship General Baptist Church at 3581 N. Westwood Blvd reported at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, a group trespassed on their parking lot over the weekend.

Aaron Lewis reported at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, three people were trespassing inside a property he owned at 631 Charles St. The suspects agreed to leave and were told not to return to the residence.

An adult female reported at 12:24 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, her boyfriend assaulted her while she was at his residence in the 800 block of Bearden Street. The victim did not want to press charges.

Vickie Rushing reported at 12:46 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, a house guest took her cell phone and poked her before leaving her residence in the 600 block of Hazel Street. Rushing said she allowed the suspect to stay with her, but did not know his name.

The National Instant Background Check System reported Thursday, Sept. 28, a firearm transfer was denied at a local store after it was determined the customer had an outstanding arrest warrant.
