An employee at Poplar Bluff High School reported at 8:14 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, a juvenile student possessed a THC vaping device inside the school building. The vaping device was seized and placed into evidence, and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

An employee at the Probation and Parole Community Supervision Center at 1441 Black River Industrial Park Road reported at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, a client used a plastic bottle to submit a false urine sample for drug testing. Probation and Parole seized the bottle and the matter was referred to the prosecutor.

An employee at Poplar Bluff High School reported at 9:39 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, a THC vaping device was seized from a student at the high school on Oct. 13. The vaping device was seized and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

Officers investigated a complaint from staff at 12:07 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, that a parent was impaired when they picked up their child at SCMCAA Head Start at 1150 Herschel Bess Blvd. Officers contacted the parent and child at their residence and determined the report was unfounded.

Therron Riddle, 34, of Grandin was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at 3100 Oak Grove Road. Riddle was booked on a charge of fourth-degree assault and lodged in the Butler County jail.
