Diana Hedges reported at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, a white male stole a bicycle and an air compressor from her property in the 600 block of North Eighth Street. The suspect was later found pushing the bicycle on South Broadway.

Steven Swindell, 50, of Poplar Bluff was arrested and transported to the police department. The bicycle was returned to the victim. Swindell was booked on charges of stealing and trespassing, and a Butler County warrant for failure to appear on stealing. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Christy Neift reported at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, her mailbox was stolen overnight. Surveillance video footage captured the theft. The suspect was described as a white male in a light colored Dodge pickup.

An employee at Goodies by Chris at 1414 S. Broadway reported at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, someone broke windows out of two vehicle parked behind the business overnight.

An employee at Country Pickins at 616 Highway 53 reported at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, a theft from one of the vendors’ booths was caught on video. A white male concealed a tool and left the store without paying for it. The suspect left in a black Chevrolet passenger vehicle. The suspect was identified from the footage and the matter was referred to the prosecutor.

Kiersten Skiles reported at 11:12 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, her ex-boyfriend assaulted her on Monday, Oct. 9.

Jonathan Coonce reported at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, a game console and two tablets were stolen from his residence in the 500 block of Karen Drive.

Officers responded at 12:07 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, to the emergency room at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for a patient suffering a mental health crisis threatening violence against staff. The patient was escorted to a secure room without incident.

Lacey Wells, 28, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, on the parking lot at Gates Corporation at 1650 Rowe Parkway in connection with a vehicular assault on the parking lot at Bluff Estates Shopping Center. Wells was booked on charges of second-degree assault and littering. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Daniel Gause, 36, of Poplar Bluff, Haley Brown, 25, of Broseley and Trena Beecham, 35, of Poplar Bluff were arrested at 2:53 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at a residence in the 300 block of Euclid Street.

Gause was booked on a Butler County warrant for burglary, while Brown was booked on a Stoddard County warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Both were lodged in the Butler County jail.

Beecham was booked on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses. She was unable to post bond but was released on her own recognizance.

An employee at Walmart Supercenter at 333 S. Westwood Blvd. reported at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, a white female stole candy and liquor from the store and left the property in a white Chevrolet Trailblazer. The theft was captured on video.

Officers responded at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, to a residence in the 1000 block of Gardner Street for a domestic disturbance. No injury was reported, neither party pressed charges, and they agreed to separate for the night.

Officers responded at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, to Munch-N-Pump at 900 West Pine Street for a panic alarm. An employee reported two adult males fought inside the store then left the store in different directions.

Tara Morris, 31, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Mill Street. Morris was booked on a Probation and Parole warrant for probation violation and a Butler County warrant for probation violation. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Timothy Russell reported at 12:16 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, his scooter was stolen. The scooter had been parked in front of Russell’s residence in the 200 block of South Ninth Street.
