Alexis Phillips and Luis Rivera reported at 7:57 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, tires were damaged on three vehicles parked at a residence in the 1900 block of Wilson Street overnight.

An employee at Poplar Bluff High School reported at 8:05 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, an item of jewelry was stolen from their classroom.

Officers responded at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, to Dollar General at 903 Highway 53 for a report of an unresponsive adult male sitting in a car on the parking lot. The officers were able to wake the suspect and he refused medical treatment. Dollar General employees allowed a juvenile female passenger to wait in their break room while they called the police. The juvenile female was taken to the police department and released to a parent.

Skylar Watkins, 33, of Poplar Bluff was taken into custody on Monday, Nov. 6, and transported to the police department. He was booked on a Butler County warrant for failure to appear on stealing and charges of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance. Watkins was lodged in the Butler County jail.

The owner of Something Old Something New at 2186 N. Westwood Blvd. reported at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, a white female stole two pairs of jeans from the store. The theft was captured on surveillance video.

A Poplar Bluff school bus driver reported on Monday, Nov. 6, a car failed to stop for the bus STOP signals at a bus stop on Nov. 2. The driver was identified as a juvenile, and a parent was contacted and told about the violation.

A juvenile female reported at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, she was assaulted by her mother at their residence in the 1600 block of Sanders Street. Efforts to contact the suspect failed. The incident was reported to the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline and the child was released to a family friend.

Shai Hathaway, 29, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:31 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at his residence in the 800 block of Kinzer Street. Hathaway was booked on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on property damage and lodged in the Butler County jail.

A white 2010 Chevrolet Impala was towed from a traffic stop at 8:38 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, on North Main Street after the driver was unable to provide proof of insurance. Driver Aijalon Blackmon, 39, of Poplar Bluff was issued traffic tickets and released at the scene.

A red 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was towed from a traffic stop at 9:07 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, on Oak Grove Road after it was determined the vehicle was not insured. Driver William Condon, 37, of Poplar Bluff was issued traffic tickets and released at the scene.

Scotty Hopper, 48, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at his residence in the 3300 block of Jimmy Lane. Hopper was booked on a charge of violation of a protection order and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Charles Gossett, 32, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Jay’s Corner Store at 1040 S. Broadway. Gossett was booked on a Dunklin County warrant for stealing and lodged in the Butler County jail.

A 40-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 4:04 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, on Highway 13, south of Warrensburg.
According to the report, Jason L. Barnett, 40, of Doniphan was operating a 2000 International southbound when its load shifted while Barnett was attempting to navigate a curve. Barnett overcorrected, causing the truck to overturn.
Barnett refused treatment on scene.
