Eric Camp, 50, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 7:41 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, during a traffic stop on East Pine Street. Camp was booked on a Michigan warrant for failure to pay child support with a cash-only bond of $47,944, and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

At 8:08 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, an employee at Poplar Bluff High School reported a school laptop issued to a juvenile student was stolen from a classroom on April 28.

At 11:01 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, Brandi Smith reported a wallet was stolen from her car while it was parked in the garage of her residence in the 200 block of Meadows Road. A credit card taken with the wallet was used to make fraudulent transactions.

At 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, officers responded to a disturbance on Kinzer Street. Witnesses said two children fought, and their parents argued about it. No injuries were reported.

At 8:22 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, a resident in the 2000 block of Holloway Drive reported they found tools and a jacket in their backyard. The property was placed into evidence until they are claimed by the owner.

At 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, Rhonda Smith, 45, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at her residence in the 1000 block of Ash Street. Smith was booked on a charge of violation of an order of protection and she was released pending review by the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

At 5:25 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, Ron Jennings reported tools were stolen from his truck while it was parked in front of Buffington Brothers Heating and Cooling at 110 North Riverview.

At 5:47 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, an adult female reported that her estranged husband sent her harassing text messages in violation of a protection order. The matter was referred to the Butler County Prosecuting Attorney.
