An employee at Poplar Bluff Alternative School reported at 6:45 a.m. Friday, March 3, a juvenile student attacked another juvenile student in a classroom, choked them, and struck them with a closed fist. The juveniles were released to parents and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

Jasmine Decair reported at 8:03 a.m. Friday, March 3, an overnight guest stole her cell phone and a sweatshirt from her residence in the 1100 block of North Main Street.

Employees of the non-profit organization PFLAG reported at 8:10 a.m. Friday, March 3, unauthorized withdrawals were made from their bank account.

An employee at Beehive Liquors at 208 S. Westwood Blvd. reported at 10:31 a.m. Friday, March 3, someone broke into the building overnight.

Thaddeus Foreman, 32, of Poplar Bluff, was booked on a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant at 12:54 p.m. Friday, March 3, for failure to appear on charges of no insurance. Bond was set at $225.00. Foreman was unable to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.

Larry Preatty, 56, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, in the parking lot at Hillcrest Apartments at 445 N. 2nd St. Preatty was booked in on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and a Butler County warrant for dangerous drugs with a $30,000 bond. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Save-A-Lot at 451 Hwy 53 reported at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, a white male customer left the store without paying for food he consumed while inside the store. The theft was captured on surveillance video and the investigation continues.

Willie Blackmon, 49, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. Friday, March 3, at his residence in the 900 block of Lester Street. Blackmon was booked in on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses with a $500 bond. Blackmon was unable to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.

William Fanter, 43, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 6:02 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Walmart Supercenter located at 333 S. Westwood Blvd. Fanter was booked in on a charge of first degree burglary and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Blake Borders reported at 6:26 p.m. Friday, March 3, both license plates were missing from her car.

Crystal Hausmann, 38, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested Friday, March 3, at Home Depot at 639 S. Westwood Blvd. Hausmann was booked in on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on charges of shoplifting with a $250 bond and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Justin Eiferts, 36, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 9:02 p.m. Friday, March 3, during a traffic stop on North Westwood Boulevard. Eiferts was booked in on a Butler County warrant for hit and run with a $2,500 bond. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 10:33 p.m. Friday, March 3, to a residence in the 1000 block of Tremont Street for a drug overdose. EMS administered three doses of Narcan on the scene without effect and transported the victim to the hospital.

Officers responded at 3:06 a.m. Saturday, March 4, to a burglary attempt at 1703 S. Westwood Blvd. A passerby reported two males were throwing rocks in the roadway and one of the rocks broke the window.

Sean O’Kelley, 35, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at his residence in the 1900 block of Kentucky Avenue. O’Kelley was booked in on a Butler County warrant for burglary with a $30,000 bond and a probation/parole warrant for parole violation with no bond and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Richard Holden, 53, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 3:34 p.m. Saturday, March 4, on South Eighth Street at Henderson Street. Holden was booked in on a Butler County warrant for probation violation with a $5,000 cash only bond and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Joe Joiner reported at 6:27 p.m. Saturday, March 4, someone forced entry into an apartment in his building at 966 Lester St.

Kimberly Counts, 42, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 6:56 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Academy Sports at 3095 Oak Grove Road. Counts was booked in on a charge of stealing and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Cheyenne Fields, 23, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, March 4, during a traffic stop in the 1000 block of South Broadway. Fields was booked in on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.

At 7:42 p.m. Saturday, March 4, officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Marylane Drive for a drug overdose. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Robert Ford, 45, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, March 5, during a traffic stop on Cheshire Boulevard. Ford was booked in on traffic offenses, resisting arrest and a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on expired plates with a $250 bond. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Alexis McDaniel reported at 2:35 p.m. Sunday, March 5, an acquaintance damaged surveillance cameras outside her residence in the 800 block of Kinzer Street.

Mary Robinson reported at 5:13 p.m. Sunday, March 5, her purse was stolen while she was at JC Penny at 515 S. Westwood Blvd. The theft was captured on surveillance video and the suspect was identified. The matter was referred to the Butler County Prosecutor.

Alexis McDaniel reported at 5:46 p.m. Sunday, March 5, an acquaintance knocked on her door. When she looked outside she saw two unidentified black males holding firearms were with the acquaintance. An area search was conducted but the suspects were not located.

Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Oakwood Street for a report that a juvenile was flourishing a knife. The juvenile was transported to the Mississippi County Juvenile Detention Center.

Anthony Peoples, 36, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 7:07 p.m. Sunday, March 5, in the parking lot at Huck’s Convenience Store at 703 N. Westwood Blvd. Peoples was booked in on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on charges of no insurance with a $225 bond. Peoples was unable to post bond and he was released on his own recognizance.

Desmon Sanders, 40, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested at 1:16 a.m. Monday, March 6, in the parking lot at Huck’s Convenience Store at 703 N. Westwood Blvd. Sanders was booked in on charges of possession of amphetamine and unlawful use of a weapon and he was released pending review by the Butler County Prosecutor.

Officers responded at 3:13 a.m. March 6, to the VA Medical Center for a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment of his injuries. The investigation continues.
