Julie McCranie reported at 11:54 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, an ex-boyfriend went through her vehicle while it was parked at her residence in the 800 block of Ash Street. When she confronted him, he struck her in the face and left the scene. This matter was referred to the Butler County prosecutor.

James Hays reported at noon Wednesday, June 7, a former tenant returned to his rental property in the 800 block of North Grand Avenue. The former tenant was banned from the property, and a disabled blue 2006 Cadillac passenger vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.

Officers responded at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, to Poplar Bluff Full Gospel Fellowship Church for a report that plastic letters on their marquee had been rearranged to an offensive message. The letters were removed and returned to the church.

A man reported at 4:33 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, his juvenile stepson killed two cats in their home. The child was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Officers responded at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, to Huck’s convenience store at 703 North Westwood Blvd. for a report of a drug overdose in a restroom. EMS administered Narcan, and the victim refused further medical assistance.

Officers responded at 11:51 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, to a domestic assault at a residence in the 2800 block of Perkins Drive. No injuries were reported, and the parties separated for the night.

Randall Burgess, 40, of Poplar Bluff was booked in at the police department at 3:14 a.m. Thursday, June 8, on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense with a $500 bond. Burgess was unable to post bond, and he was released on his own recognizance.
