An employee at the Poplar Bluff School District bus garage reported at 8:29 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, a former employee was trespassing on the property. The employee was issued a criminal summons for trespassing and was released at the scene.

An employee at Poplar Bluff Junior High School reported at 8:49 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, a juvenile assaulted another juvenile student in a hallway of the building. As the victim left a classroom the suspect jumped him from behind, choked him and threw him to the floor, and repeatedly struck him with closed fists until a teacher intervened. The suspect was transported to the Butler County Juvenile Office.

Henry Jones reported Thursday, Jan. 11, his roommate Larry Williams, 71, of Poplar Bluff had been missing for several days.

An employee at Bomgaars reported at 4:49 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, a white male and white female stole merchandise from the store. The theft was captured on video.

Nicholas Branecky, 25, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:12 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at his residence in the 400 block of West Midland Street. Branecky was booked in on a charge of domestic assault fourth degree and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 7:13 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, to a report of an adult male suffering a mental health crisis at Walmart Supercenter at 333 S. Westwood Blvd. The adult male was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

Officers responded at 9:21 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, to a report of an adult male suffering a mental health crisis at an Ozark Behavioral Health residential care facility in the 1100 block of West Spring Street. The adult male was transported by ambulance to the hospital for an evaluation.

Arthur Ayers reported at 11:53 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, an adult male roommate assaulted him during an argument at their residence in the 500 block of South C Street.

Alecia Zahlen, 35, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:35 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at a residence in the 500 block of Hazel Street. Zahlen was booked in on a charge of peace disturbance and she was lodged in the Butler County jail.
