An employee at Quality Tech Transmission at 1700 S. Broadway reported at 7:41 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, a derelict vehicle, a red 1998 Dodge Dakota, had been abandoned on the side of the road in front of the business.

Brittany Cooper, 38, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the police department at 2:04 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on stealing. Cooper was unable to post bond, but she was released on her own recognizance.

Victorio S. Carpio, 39, of Leon, Texas, was arrested at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Butler County on suspicion of felony possession of tramadol and unlawful use of a weapon. He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.
