An employee at Poplar Bluff High School reported at 9:20 a.m. Monday, April 24, a juvenile student harassed another juvenile student. The matter was referred to the juvenile office.

Steven Whittaker, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:39 a.m. Monday, April 24, on South C Street. Whittaker was booked on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on possession of marijuana with a $50 bond. Whittaker was unable to post bond, and he was released on his recognizance.

Officers responded at 11:37 a.m. Monday, April 24, to a residence in the 900 block of Hickory Street for a drug overdose. The victim was alert and was treated by EMS.

Byron Reagan, 33, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 11:43 a.m. Monday, April 24, during a traffic stop in the 1000 block of South Broadway. Reagan was booked in on a warrant for a parole violation with no bond and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Menard’s at 3105 Oak Grove Road reported at 12:17 p.m. Monday, April 24, a white female selected several items from the shelves and tried to return them for a refund, and she left the store with an item she didn’t purchase. The theft was captured on surveillance video.

Destiny Warren reported at 2:33 p.m. Monday, April 24, her child’s cell phone was stolen. The phone was recovered from a cell phone kiosk at Walmart Supercenter, but the company refused to provide any information about the person who deposited the cell phone in the kiosk. The phone was returned to the owner.

Officers responded at 5:29 p.m. Monday, April 24, to a lot on South C Street for a drug overdose. The victim was transported by ambulance to the emergency room.

Tyler Watkins, 33, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:52 p.m. Monday, April 24, in the 2700 block of Barron Road. Watkins was booked in on charges of possession of amphetamine and he was released pending further investigation.

A juvenile female reported at 7:03 p.m. Monday, April 24, she was kidnapped by three men in a white older model passenger vehicle. The victim said a bag was placed over her head, and after a brief drive, she was released unharmed in the 1500 block of North Grand Avenue. The victim later recanted and said she made up the story to cover for visiting a juvenile male she was not supposed to see.

An employee at Dollar Tree at 775 North Westwood Boulevard reported at 7:17 p.m. Monday, April 24, a white male tried to leave the store without paying for merchandise in a cart. The suspect fled the scene on foot when the employee confronted him.

A box of ammunition was turned in at 7:53 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office turned the ammunition in to the Poplar Bluff Police Department.

Jeffrey Moore, 41, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:57 p.m. Monday, April 24, during a traffic stop on Valley Street. Moore was booked in on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on traffic offenses with a $200 bond. Moore was unable to post bond, and he was released on his own recognizance.

Paige Spencer, 30, of Qulin was arrested at 3:38 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, during a traffic stop on East Pine Street. Spencer was booked in on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on library theft with a $307 bond.
