Officers were dispatched Wednesday, April 17, to the 2100 block of Spring Street in reference to trespassing. Contact was made with Macie Schrage on scene. Communications advised Schrage had active warrants through the city of Poplar Bluff and Butler County. Schrage was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

The school resource officer was contacted by a principal from the high school on Wednesday, April 17 in regards to a student being found in possession of a THC vape on Tuesday, April 16. According to the principal, the student was brought to the office after a security officer observed him in the upstairs restroom with a vape. Once at the office, the vape was determined to be a THC one and an additional THC vape was located in a side pocket of his backpack. This report was forwarded to the juvenile office.

The school resource officer at Poplar Bluff Middle School received email statements from an assistant principal of the Middle School about an assault on Wednesday, April 17. It stated on the previous day (Tuesday, April 16) a student had been in a conflict with another student in his Math classroom. When asked to leave the room to defuse the situation, the student became combative and was escorted to the trust room for de-escalation. While there, the student refused to calm down, forcing trained staff to place him in approved compliance holds for both his and their safety. It took nearly 30 minutes for the student to calm down enough to be released.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday, April 17, to the 1100 block of Fairmount in reference to a landlord/tenant issue. The landlord was shutting off utilities to the reporting party’s residence.

Officers received a report on Wednesday, April 17, from a subject who came to the front desk reporting a wallet missing. The subject last used the wallet at the Dollar Tree.

Roy Moring was taken into custody Wednesday, April 17, in reference to an active warrant through the city for his arrest. Upon contact, Moring was taken into custody. A controlled substance was also located on his person. Moring was arrested on the warrant and possession of a controlled substance.

Officers attempted to make contact Wednesday, April 17, with Larrecus Thomas at a residence on Nooney Street in reference to a felony warrant for his arrest. Thomas ran inside the residence and forced the door shut. Once officers were able to get the door open, Thomas had already fled through the back of the residence.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday, April 17, to J.C. Penny in reference to stealing. Employees stated on Thursday, April 4, a white female stole a pair of shoes and a dress from the business the fled from the store without purchasing the items.

Officers were dispatched to the Walmart Neighborhood Market in reference to a report of leaving the scene accident. The victim stated he was inside working and upon returning to his vehicle notice someone had struck it. Upon review video surveillance and speaking with a witness, a vehicle was possibly identified. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday, April 17, to J.C. Penny in reference to stealing. Employees stated on Tuesday, April 16, a white female entered the dressing room with merchandise and exited with no merchandise. The items were never located in the dressing room. The female then exited the business without attempting to purchase anything.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday, April 17, to the First United Methodist Church in reference to trespassing. A subject had been trespassed from the Bread Shed due to an incident. Due to that incident the church officials wanted the subject trespassed from their property as well.

Haley Brown was taken into custody Wednesday, April 17, for an active warrant through Stoddard County, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brown was being questioned about a possible crime in the 300 block of Roxie Drive when she ran from the scene. She was later captured and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Charlie Harrison was arrested Wednesday, April 17, on a Poplar Bluff Municipal warrant. Harrison was released on an own recognizance bond per the judge.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday, April 17, to the 1300 block of Benton St. in reference to a fight. After contacting everyone involved Ronnetta R. Taylor was taken into custody for striking a subject with a brick. Taylor was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers made contact Wednesday, April 17, with Taco Bell employees at 2761 N. Westwood in reference to peace disturbance. Employees stated a male came through the business upset because they were out of an item. The male threatened harm to them and left the business.
