Dakota Gray, 25, of Clarkton, was arrested at at 4:37 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Hillcrest Park. Gray was booked in on a Vienna municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense with a $225 cash only bond and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Cathy Cody reported at 6:29 p.m. Thursday, April 13, her juvenile son was assaulted by an adult male acquaintance as he walked in the 1600 block of Alice Street.

An adult female reported at 8:03 p.m. Thursday, April 13, she was assaulted by an adult male stranger at Hucks at 703 N. Westwood Blvd. The victim said the suspect bought her food, then drove her home; but she asked him to drop her off at Hucks. The suspect returned and confronted her about property she took from his car. When she refused, he assaulted her. The victim gave the suspect’s ID and credit cards to the officer, and she was transported by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. The investigation continues.

Officers responded at 9:48 p.m. Thursday, April 13, to the 800 block of West Vine Street for a report of shots fired. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a gray Dodge passenger vehicle. Officers stopped a gray Dodge passenger vehicle nearby, and the occupants fled on foot. No injury or property damage were reported.

Officers reponded at 5:06 a.m. Thursday, April 13, to the 1000 block of Fairmount Street for a report of shots fired into a residence. The victim said a white passenger vehicle was involved in the shooting. Officers located suspect vehicle, and the driver backed into a patrol vehicle and fled. Two juveniles were detained nearby and the vehicle was found parked behind houses in the 1700 block of Illinois Street. The suspects were transported to the police department for an interview with a deputy juvenile officer.

An employee at Academy Sports reported at 8:00 a.m. Friday, April 14, that on April 12, two black females removed security tags from clothing items and concealed them in their pants. They left the store without paying for these items. The theft was captured on surveillance video.
