Officers responded Tuesday, Sept. 3, to the 2500 block of High Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Harper Street, and the vehicle was returned to its owner. This case is under investigation.

Officers responded Tuesday, Sept. 3, to a business in the 1800 block of South Broadway Street in reference to an altercation involving a weapon. It was determined that there had been a dispute over a bill for services that was due, and that one party drew a firearm in response. Rodger Rice, 41, of Poplar Bluff was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon and Troy Bumpers, 45, of Poplar Bluff was arrested for obstruction of a government operation. Charges are being sought with the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Tuesday, Sept. 3, to a residence the 600 block of Kinzer Street in reference to an unwanted guest. Troy Bumpers, 45, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested for trespassing and peace disturbance. Charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers responded Tuesday, Sept. 3, to a residence in the 800 block of Lester Street in reference to a custody dispute. The issue was determined to be a civil matter, and officers departed after ensuring all parties were safe.

Michelle Foster, 51, of Poplar Bluff was arrested for Trespassing, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded Tuesday, Sept. 3, to a business in the 1300 block of North Westwood Boulevard in reference to an assault. It was determined that a road-rage incident had occurred, which resulted in one party being assaulted by the other. This investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded Tuesday, Sept. 3, to a traffic accident in the intersection of S. Westwood Boulevard and Shelby Road and came into contact with a subject that was belligerent and interfered with the accident investigation. Autumn Aaron, 38, of Qulin was arrested for resisting arrest and for attempting to disarm a peace officer. Charges are being sought through the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.
