While patrolling Saturday, Sept. 14, officers located an abandoned motor vehicle. Contact with the owner was made, and due to impeding traffic, the vehicle was towed away.

Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 14, to a residence in the 900 block of Lester Street in reference to a possible drug overdose. It was determined that a subject had overdosed on suspected illegal narcotics. The suspect was treated for their symptoms on scene, by EMS and refused further contact.

Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 14, to a business in the 200 block of N. D Street in reference to assault. After an investigation was conducted, it was uncertain if an assault had taken place or not, as the victim was uncooperative. This case was closed.

Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 14, to the intersection of N. Main Street and College Street in reference to reckless driving. The suspect vehicle was located nearby. Justin Gooch, 39, of Poplar Bluff was arrested for driving while revoked.

Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 14, to a residence in the 300 block of W. Harper Street in reference to lost or stolen property. It was determined that a cellphone was missing from a bag. This investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 14, to a business in the 2200 block of N. Westwood Boulevard in reference to attempted suicide. A subject was determined to have caused deliberate harm to themselves and received treatment by EMS and was transported for further treatment.

Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 14, to the intersection of Shelby Road and Roxie Road in reference to a vehicle accident. A juvenile was determined to have been driving while intoxicated, and this matter was referred to the Butler County Juvenile Office.

Officers responded Saturday, Sept. 14, to a residence in the 2300 block of Wood Street in reference to a dog bite. It was determined that a canine had escaped from a nearby residence and bit a passerby. The owner was located and this matter has been referred to the Poplar Bluff Animal Control.
