Travis T. Cook, 39, of Marble Hill was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, on a Wayne County warrant for fraud/insufficient funds, a Cape Girardeau municipal failure to appear warrant for failure to register a motor vehicle and no insurance and on suspicion of failure to register a motor vehicle, no insurance and no seat belt. He was booked at the Cape Girardeau County Jail.

A 75-year-old Corning, Ark., man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, on U.S. 67 at Highway M in Butler County.

According to the report, Winfred R. Ahrent was operating a southbound 2018 Chevrolet Impala that merged into the path of a 2013 Freightliner being operated by Osvaldo Rodriguez, 58, of Orlando, Fla.

Ahrent suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Michelle Denise Ballew, 49, of Ellsinore was booked at the Butler County jail Wednesday, Oct. 16, on two capias warrants for probation violation on the original charges of stealing and possession of a controlled substance.

Jeremy Joe Ledbetter, 38, of the 500 block of Midland Street was arrested at 7:24 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the 300 block of South Westwood Boulevard on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Franklin Lee Burkhart Jr. of the 1600 block of Alice Street reported Wednesday, Oct. 16, that a golf-cart trailer had been stolen from his driveway.

Kameron Joseph Rupp of the 1000 block of County Road 467 reported Wednesday, Oct. 16, that his backpack was stolen from Lisa Elizabeth Boone’s 2001 Mercury Sable while it was parked at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in the 3100 block of Oak Grove Road.

According to the report, a jacket, hat and school-issued laptop were among the items in Rupp’s backpack at the time it was stolen.
