MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
Two area men were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, on Highway 21, seven miles north of Ellington.
According to the report, Brandon W. Scherffins, 45, of Desloge, Missouri, was operating a northbound 2017 Subaru Outback and was slowing to stop for a vehicle, which had stopped suddenly in the road.
Scherffins’s vehicle allegedly was struck in the rear by a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by Patrick S. McMurry, 51, of Ellington.
McMurry’s motorcycle then reportedly crossed the center of the road and overturned off the left side of the road.
McMurry suffered moderate injuries and was taken by private vehicle to an unknown medical center for treatment.
Scherffins suffered minor injuries and was to seek his own treatment.

A 55-year-old St. Louis woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:02 a.m. Friday, June 12, on Highway M at County Road 462 in Butler County.
According to the report, Theresa Thomas was operating a 2003 Honda westbound when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.
Thomas suffered minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A 42-year-old Puxico man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, June 11, on County Road 250 at County Road 267, five miles east of Puxico.
According to the report, Kathleen M. Jarrell, 28, of Bloomfield was operating a 2012 GMC Terrain northbound on County Road 267 when it was struck by a 2014 Dodge pickup being driven westbound by Charles E. Thomas.
Both vehicles came to rest in the road.
Thomas suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

According to the report, a checkbook and change were stolen from the Dodge.

Parker L. Ross, 22, no address listed, was detained at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at the Walmart Supercenter. He was issued a summons for shoplifting and released.

Ashley Lee-Ann Baird, 32, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the intersection of 10th and Pine streets on a municipal failure to appear warrant for no license. She was booked and released on bond.

David Lawrence Allen, 31, who listed Poplar Bluff and Corning, Arkansas, addresses, was arrested at 12:57 a.m. Friday, June 12, in the 2200 block of North Westwood Boulevard on a Doniphan failure to appear warrant for failure to register a motor vehicle. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Michael Tubb of Poplar Bluff reported his mother’s residence in the 900 block of Lela was entered, as was a shed, sometime between Monday, June 8, and Wednesday, June 10.
According to the report, a guitar; leaf blower battery and charger; wooden jewelry box, wedding band and a life-size doll dressed in a Christmas dress were stolen.

Gary L. Dover of the 2300 block of Grand Avenue reported his wallet was stolen from his vehicle, which had been left parked in a lot on Highway 142 between June 5 and Wednesday, June 10.
According to the report, Dover’s identification and personal documents were among the items in his wallet at the time of its theft.
