A 75-year-old Poplar Bluff woman received serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 3:18 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, on U.S. Highway 67, about five miles north of Poplar Bluff.
According to the report, Janet L. Malpass was operating a 2006 Buick Lucerne heading westbound on the highway and failed to yield to a 2015 Ford pickup operated by Deborah A. Bettis of Winona.
Kathy A. Bettis, 62, and Roy G. Bettis, 66, passengers in Deborah Bettis’ vehicle, were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. Malpass was also transported there for serious injuries.

Charles E. Johnson, 56, of the 1600 block of Alice Street reported at 4:46 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, the theft of a firearm from his residence.
According to the report, Johnson realized his Marlin .30-30 rifle was missing from the bedroom safe that day. The rifle had a gold trigger and gold medallion on the stock. Johnson reported no signs of forced entry.

Rodney L. Towns, 36, of the 1500 block of North Fifth Street, reported at 2:16 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, the theft of stereo equipment from his car.
According to the report, Towns’ truck was at Simmons Tire from Jan. 1 until Saturday, Jan. 18, and during that time the stereo was stolen.
