An employee at Ross Dress for Less reported at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, a white female stole merchandise. The white female was identified and a request for charges was sent to the prosecutor.

Brett Chilton, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Probation and Parole Community Supervision Center at 1441 Black River Industrial Park Rd. Chilton was booked in on a Probation and Parole warrant for parole violation (no bond) and he was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Angela Alexander, 25, of Poplar Bluff was booked in at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the police station on a Poplar Bluff municipal failure to appear warrant for assault ($261 bond). Alexander was unable to post bond and she was released on her own recognizance.

An employee at Casey’s General Store at 599 E. Pine St. reported at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, a customer threatened to kill her. The suspect was identified from store surveillance video and the matter was referred to the juvenile office.

An employee at Briggs and Stratton reported at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, a catalytic converter was stolen from a company truck parked on the property.

Brian Casey, 40, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:24 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, during a traffic stop on North Westwood Boulevard. Casey was booked in on a Kennett failure to appear warrant for no insurance ($200 bond); and additional charges of possession of amphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses. Casey was lodged in the Butler County jail.
