Danny Ray Williams, 47, of Poplar Bluff was booked Tuesday, March 8, at the Butler County jail on a warrant to serve shock time.

Deputies were dispatched at 12:50 p.m. Thursday, March 3, to the 1500 block of County Road 607 in reference to a physical assault in progress. Deputies made contact with suspect, Tina Wooden of Poplar Bluff. She was arrested on suspicion of third degree domestsic assault and booked at the Butler County jail.

Deputies were dispatched Friday, March 4, to the Ross Fuel Center in reference to stealing. Manager Tiffany Voyles stated a suspect attempted to obtain $95.03 in diesel fuel without paying. Charges are pending.

Deputies responded to 21710 Highway 67 South at Taylor’s State Line Truck Stop Friday, March 4, in reference to theft. According to the report, contact was made with kitchen mananger, Stephanie Woodruff who stated an employee was captured on video reportedly stealing large quantities of food. The suspect was arrested and booked at the Butler County jail. Charges are pending.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Officers responded at 5:36 p.m. Saturday, March 5, to a residence in the 1600 block of Wilson Street in reference to a drug overdose. According to the report, the victim was treated by EMS and refused further assistance.

Arvel Rowe, 34, no address given, and Maranda Cross, 25, no address given, were arrested at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, March 5, on outstanding warrants. Rowe was booked at the Butler County jail on a Rockford, Illinois warrant for failure to appear disorderly conduct, while Cross was booked at the Butler County jail on a Dexter warrant for failure to appear shoplifting.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North Westwood Boulevard at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in reference to a tractor blocking the roadway. According to reports the driver of the tractor was identified as a 59 year-old homeless male. Officers were unable to identify the rightful owner of the tractor. The tractor was out of fuel and was towed from the scene. On March 7 the owner reported the tractor had been stolen from a field in Dexter. Investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Karen Drive at 9:44 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in reference to shots fired. No damage or injuries were reported.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Victor and Wilson streets at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in reference to a single vehicle accident. Two female passengers reported the driver was going too fast as he entered a turn and the vehicle left the roadway and struck a vacant house. The driver fled the scene on foot. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Victor Harris 31, of St Louis was stopped on Pine and Selma streets at 2:57 a.m. Sunday, March 6, on a traffic stop. Harris was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license and no proof of insurance and expired state registration. Harris was released and the vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.

Cassandra Miller, 37, of Poplar Bluff was stopped on Vine and FIfth streets at 3:11 a.m. Sunday, March 6. Miller was cited for no state registration and no proof of insurance. She was released and the vehicle was impounded and towed from the scene.

Dustin Sykes was arrested at 12:37 p.m. Sunday, March 6, in the 500 block of Cleveland Street for violation of ex parte. He was booked at the Butler County Jail.

Nicholas Hodge reported at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, a truck was stolen from his residence in the 600 block of Charles Street.

Matthew Dittman, 25 of Wappapello, was arrested at 8:08 p.m. Sunday, March 6, during a traffic stop on Westwood Boulevard at Pine Street. He was booked on a Wayne County warrant for no driver’s license and was lodged at the Butler County jail.

Lynn Davis reported at 7:34 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, a cell phone stolen from her residence in the 900 block of Lester Street.

Terra Ruff of Poplar Bluff reported at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, two pistols missing from her vehicle.

Jessica Stocks reported at 7:09 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, a truck was stolen from her residence in the 700 block of Dewey Street. According to the report, there was evidence that the vehicle was pulled from the yard.

Officers located a juvenile runaway at 8:56 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, in the 1300 block of North 12th Street. The juvenile surrendered a Glock .40 caliber pistol which he said was stolen. The juvenile was transported to the Butler County Juvenile Office.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

A 26-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, on County Road 616, four miles north of Jackson.

According to the report, Bernard C. Cruz, 26, of Jackson was operating a 1999 Toyota RAV4 westbound when it traveled off the right side of the road, returned to the road, then traveled off the left side of the road, overturned and ejected Cruz.

Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene by Cape Girardeau County coroner Wavis Jordan at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Cruz is the eighth fatality in Troop E this year.
