Elijah L. Capps, 38, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, March 10, in Butler County on a Butler County warrant for a moving traffic violation. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Hunter N. Watkins, 20, of Piedmont was arrested at 2:33 a.m. Friday, March 11, in Wayne County on suspicion of DWI, minor in possession of alcohol and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 12-hour hold.

Angela R. Ledbetter, 52, of Advance was arrested at 10:33 a.m. Friday, March 11, in Stoddard County on suspicion of DWI. She was released.

Joseph B. Eaton, 19, of Advance was arrested at 12:54 a.m. Sunday, March 13, in Stoddard County on suspicion of DWI, speeding 11-15 miles per hour over the posted limit and no seatbelt. He was released.

Nicholas Beck, 20, of Marquand was arrested at 7:11 p.m. Sunday, March 13, in Wayne County on a Madison County felony warrant for third degree assault and on suspicion of speeding and no seat belt. He was booked at the Wayne County jail.

A 78-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 8:38 a.m. Friday, March 11, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and Highway 114, one-half mile west of Morehouse.

According to the report. Peggy D. Evans, 78, of Risco was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound when it merged into the lane of an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban was operated by Stephanie L. Rice, 40, of Dexter, and struck Rice’s vehicle.

Evans was taken by private conveyance to SoutheastHEALTH of Dexter.

A 60-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 6:24 p.m. Saturday, March 12, on U.S. Highway 60, one-half mile west of Van Buren. According to the report, James R. Vandiver, Jr., 60, of Van Buren was operating a 2017 Dodge Caravan westbound when it ran off the left side of the road and struck an embankment in the median. Vandiver was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A seven-year-old girl was killed and a 70-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 7:13 p.m. Sunday, March 13, on Highway O, four miles north of Charleston.

According to the report, Doris J. Wheeler was operating a 2009 Toyota Corolla westbound when it traveled off the right side of the road, overturned and struck an embankment.

A seven-year-old female passenger in Wheeler’s vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:45 p.m. by Mississippi County paramedic Brian Wilcox. She is the ninth fatality in Troop E this year.

Wheeler was transported by EMS to Saint Francis Medical Center.
