City firefighters responded at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, May 27, to a report of an unauthorized fire at 1327 Benton St. According to the report, unauthorized materials were burning behind the address. A cleaning crew was working at the location and firefighters informed them of the cities burn ordinance. The fire was extinguished by the cleaning crew.

City firefighters responded at 3:42 p.m. Thursday, May 27, to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 214 S. Westwood Blvd. According to the report, firefighters arrived and were informed by EMS personnel that there were no transports necessary. Firefighters remained at scene until a disabled vehicle was towed away and the roadway was clear.

City firefighters responded at 5:17 p.m. Thursday, May 27, to a report of an unauthorized burn at 2426 Channon. According to the report, an occupant was burning leaves and limbs. Firefighters told the occupant that the burn was within city ordinance but had to be out by dark.

City firefighters responded at 7:19 p.m. Thursday, May 27, to a report of an alarm going off in the vicinity of the 100 block of South C Street. According to the report, firefighters observed nothing burning and after a search, found the smoke alarm that was going off was located in a trash can in front of 113 South C St. The alarm was disabled, and firefighters were unable to contact the resident at that address.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Andrew Lee Brittingham, 30, of the 900 block of Mulberry was arrested at 8:09 a.m. Thursday, May 27, in the 400 block of Pine on a failure to appear warrant for stealing, failure to appear warrant for no insurance, failure to appear warrant for operating a motor vehicle without a license, a warrant for stealing, and a warrant for resisting arrest/detention by fleeing. Brittingham was booked at the Butler County jail.

Anna Marie Crider, 31, of the 900 block of Mulberry was arrested at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in the 900 block of Mulberry. According to the report, a search warrant of the residence was being conducted when contact was made with Crider. Officers discovered an active capias parole violation warrant on Crider for third-degree aggravated assault and she was booked at the Butler County jail.

Ruben R. Ramirez, 24, no address available, was arrested at 3:25 a.m. Friday, May 28, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on a New Madrid County failure to appear warrant for unlawful use of a weapon. Ramirez was booked at the Butler County jail.

John Adam Johns, 59, of the 700 block of Apple was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at the intersection of Main and Ninth Street for suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle. Johns was booked at the Butler County jail.

Cassandra D. Holifield, 34, of the 5000 block of Nelly Sue was arrested at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in the 1000 block of Poplar on a Malden warrant for assault. Holifield was booked at the Butler County jail.

Kevin Chase Parker, 28, of the 200 block of Elm, was arrested at 12:53 p.m. Thursday, May 27, on Elm Street on a failure to appear warrant for stealing, a failure to appear warrant for first-degree trespassing, a capias parole violation for second-degree burglary, a capias parole violation resisting/interfering with arrest, and a warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Parker was booked at the Butler County jail.

Bruce Lee Cole, 39, of Quilin was booked at the Butler County jail Thursday, May 27, on a capias parole violation for stealing.

Paige Brooke Duncan, 27, of the 800 block of Kinzer was booked at the Butler County jail Thursday, May 27, on a failure to appear warrant for no operator’s license, a parole violation, and suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

An Advance resident suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, May 27, on US 160 at Harviell. According to the report, a 2004 Buick Regal operated by Kylie M. Mann, 20, from Poplar Bluff was travelling eastbound on US 160 when the accident occurred. A 2008 Pontiac G6 operated by Bryce W. Cook, 18, from Advance was travelling westbound on US 160 and turned into Mann’s path, causing a crash, troopers reported. Cook was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A single vehicle crash caused minor injuries to a Piedmont woman at 5:25 p.m. Thursday, May 27, on Highway W one mile north of Poplar Bluff. According to the report, a white Chevrolet Aveo operated by Christal L. Ritter, 34, of Piedmont was traveling southbound when she ran off the right side of the road, struck the ditch and overturned. Ritter was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Tommy C. Hunter, 60, of Piedmont was arrested at 7:53 p.m. Thursday, May 27, on suspicion of DWI – chronic offender, failure to drive on the right half of roadway, and no operator’s license. He was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.
