POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
City firefighters responded at 10:47 a.m. Friday, April 2, to a report of a vehicle fire at 807 W. Pine. According to the report, the fire was in a parking lot off the roadway. Firefighters extinguished the fire using 400 gallons of water. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

City firefighters responded at 6:33 p.m. Saturday, April 3, to a report of a motor vehicle collision with no injuries on 10th Street. According to the report, a vehicle struck a concrete retaining wall and knocked down a roadside light pole, at the base of the pole with power lines still attached. After disconnecting the battery of the vehicle and placing absorbent material down to clean up spilled fluids, Municipal Utilities was called to the scene to remove the pole from the roadway.

City firefighters responded at 3:48 p.m. Saturday, April 3, to a report of a fire alarm at 2310 Meadows Road. According to the report, while en-route dispatch informed crews that it was a false alarm. Upon arrival, an occupant advised crews they accidentally hit the test button on the fire alarm and there was no fire. After investigating the scene was cleared.

City firefighters responded at 8:43 a.m. Sunday, April 4, to the Northwest Medical Center at 2210 Barron Road to a report of an alarm. According to the report, upon arrival no fire was visible. Dispatch was contacted to notify keyholder so that they could enter the building. Keyholder arrived and after further inspection, no fire was discovered.

City firefighters responded at 5:40 a.m. Monday, April 5, to 2055 Cravens Lane to a report of an unknown fire. According to the report, firefighters found a controlled burn at the north end of Wayne Avenue. The owner was present and informed firefighters the property was in the county, but he was extinguishing the fire. The scene was cleared.

Garry Sarver, 19, of the 600 block of Kinzer was arrested at 9:57 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the Walmart Supercenter at 333 S. Westwood on a charge of shoplifting. A summons was issued, and Sarver was released at the scene.

Kenneth Clemmons, 33, of the 300 block of South C was arrested at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the 400 block of West Henry for suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and on outstanding warrants for possession of a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance and second-degree burglary. Clemmons was booked at the Butler County jail.

Devonte Brayboy, 28, of the 900 block of West Maud was arrested at 11:59 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Kentucky Avenue at Henry Street on suspicion of possession of heroin, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and traffic offensives. Brayboy was booked at the Butler County jail.
