Russell tried to evade police but was arrested after a foot pursuit on felony warrants for parole violation, second-degree robbery, a Ripley County warrant for larceny and a failure to appear warrant for domestic assault. Two men sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, on Highway 143 north of Wayne County Road 318, three miles north of Sam A. Baker State Park.
According to the report, Brock M. Bell, 24, of Piedmont was operating a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 southbound when it failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and slid into the path of a northound 2003 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Ray A. Seeley, 69, of Annapolis.
Both men were transported by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

According to the report, James L. Yount, 60, of Wappapello was operating a 2002 Harley Davidson southound when it ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, ejecting Yount.
Yount was transported by Air Evac to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
